Projects
Overview
In ACT 3 AI, a Project is the central container that holds all of your creative work — from scripts and characters to digital actors, scenes, shots, and final video assemblies. Every production you create (a short film, ad, TikTok, or feature-length movie) begins as a Project.
Project Structure
Projects in ACT 3 AI are organized in a nested hierarchy:
- Project → Acts → Scenes → Shots → Assets (Video, Audio, B-Roll, etc.)
This structure ensures that everything from idea to final export is traceable and editable in one place.
Creating a Project
- From the dashboard, select New Project.
- Enter a project name, description, and content type (Film, Ad, TikTok, Explainer).
- Choose aspect ratio (16:9, 9:16, 1:1) and estimated duration.
- Save to begin working in the Editor workspace.
Project Components
- Script Editor – where dialogue and action are written or imported.
- AI Wizard – generates acts, beats, and story arcs.
- Characters & Digital Actors – define and cast your story.
- Storyboards & Panels – visualize the project flow.
- Timeline – sequence and edit your shots.
- Build Video – final assembly of the project.
- Render Queue – handles rendering jobs and exports.
Managing Projects
- Folders: Organize projects by client, department, or campaign.
- Versioning: Duplicate projects to branch alternate edits.
- Collaboration: Share projects with your organization team.
- Locking: Freeze finished acts or scenes to prevent accidental edits.
- Archiving: Archive inactive projects for storage efficiency.
Credits & Billing
- Projects consume credits when rendering, previewing, or exporting.
- Credit use depends on project size, resolution, and rendering engine (see Billing Model).
- Admins can monitor project-level credit usage in Credit Dashboard.
Exporting Projects
Projects can be exported through Export Distribution into:
- MP4, MOV, ProRes video formats
- Editing formats (EDL, AAF)
- Scripts (Export Script)
Best Practices
- Name projects clearly (include client or campaign tags).
- Use draft previews before committing to final renders.
- Keep characters consistent by reusing actor profiles.
- Review credit usage regularly on long projects.
Troubleshooting
- Project won’t load → Clear cache or check permissions.
- Missing assets → Confirm uploads via Import B-Roll or Import Script.
- Out of credits → Purchase extra via Subscription Plan.
