Overview

B-Roll in ACT 3 AI refers to supplemental footage that supports the main narrative. It provides atmospheric shots, cutaway visuals, or contextual background imagery that makes your video feel more polished and cinematic. Within the ACT 3 AI workflow, B-Roll can be imported, AI-generated, or mixed with primary scene footage for maximum flexibility.

Why Use B-Roll?

• Adds context and visual richness between primary shots.
• Smooths over transitions in timelines or scenes.
• Enhances professional storytelling for ads, short films, or marketing videos.
• Provides additional camera coverage without reshooting core scenes.

Importing B-Roll

1. From the sidebar, choose **Import B-Roll**.
2. Upload your own clips or select from stock footage libraries.
3. Tag imported footage with scene, location, or mood metadata.
4. Place B-Roll on a separate track in the Timeline View for flexible editing.

Generating B-Roll with AI

• Use Google Veo 3 or Runway Integration for atmospheric cutaways (e.g., cityscapes, crowd shots, establishing landscapes).
• Combine with WAN AI for rapid, low-latency previews during collaborative sessions.
• Adjust shot prompts for mood-specific transitions (e.g., “slow pan across neon-lit city at night”).

Best Practices

• Keep clips between 3–10 seconds to maintain pacing.
• Use B-Roll to establish mood or break up long dialogues.
• Mix imported stock with AI-generated footage for unique visuals.
• Add credit-efficient previews before committing to final renders.
