Overview

The Animation Studios Integration in ACT 3 AI connects your creative workflow with third-party 2D and 3D animation platforms. It allows studios, freelancers, and production teams to import, manage, and render animated assets directly in the ACT 3 pipeline, reducing manual hand-offs and making the pre-production to final export process seamless.

Key Capabilities

  • Direct Import: Bring in animated assets from leading tools like Blender, Maya, Unreal Engine, or Toon Boom.
  • Format Compatibility: Supports FBX, OBJ, GLTF, Alembic, MP4, and ProRes pipelines.
  • 2D & 3D Integration: Combine hand-drawn animation, digital rigs, and photorealistic 3D environments with ACT 3 generated elements.
  • Collaborative Editing: Use Timeline & Storyboard to align animation sequences with AI-generated or live-action shots.
  • Cloud Rendering: Offload heavy rendering tasks to ACT 3’s cloud service or export back to your studio’s render farm.

How to Use

  1. Go to the Media Library and click **Import → Animation Asset**.
  2. Select from supported formats or connect a partner studio pipeline.
  3. Place imported animation in your Editor workspace.
  4. Sync with Digital Actors or 2D & 3D Sets for seamless compositing.
  5. Render previews in Render Queue or export final assemblies via Build Video.

Example Workflow

Input Animation Studio Contribution Next Step
Storyboard panel with action cue 3D rig imported from Maya Align in Timeline & Storyboard
Scene with Digital Actor dialogue Lip-synced 2D character from Toon Boom Merge with AI-generated B-Roll
Complex environment Unreal Engine scene imported as 3D Set Apply lighting & camera moves
Final cut Batch rendering with animation + AI assets Export with Build Video

Pricing & Credits

  • Animation imports do not consume credits.
  • Cloud rendering of animation sequences consumes credits based on resolution and duration.
  • Partner integrations (e.g., Unreal, Blender plugins) may require external licensing.

Troubleshooting & Tips

  • Ensure your source animation uses supported frame rates (24, 30, 60 fps).
  • For heavy 3D environments, use WAN AI previews before final rendering.
  • Always keep naming conventions consistent to avoid broken links in Media Library.
