Overview

The Cast page is where you define, organize, and assign characters (both virtual and human) for your production. It provides tools to create new character profiles, link them to story elements, and manage actor assignments.

Main Sections

  • Character List – A sortable table of all characters in your project, showing name, type (AI‑generated or live actor), role, and status.
  • Character Profile – Detailed view for each character, including attributes, reference images, voice and motion style presets.
  • Casting Assignments – Assign actors to characters, set availability windows, and track casting decisions.

Creating and Editing Characters

  1. Add New Character: Click the “+ Character” button to open a form for name, description, and template selection (e.g., hero, villain, background).
  2. Import from Script: Automatically generate character entries by scanning your script for unique names.
  3. Edit Profile: Update attributes such as age, gender, physical traits, and custom AI‑style parameters (voice tone, movement style).

Assigning Actors

  1. Search Actors: Browse internal talent pool or external casting databases.
  2. Create Auditions: Send scene excerpts to actors; receive feedback and video samples directly in the Cast page.
  3. Set Availability: Block out dates when actors are unavailable to avoid scheduling conflicts.

Linking to Story Elements

  • Script Integration: Characters automatically link to dialogue lines and scene headings in the Editor.
  • Storyboard Panels: Attach character profile references to storyboard frames for consistent visual style.
  • Timeline Tags: Mark where each character appears on the timeline for shot planning.

Collaboration and Review

  • Comments & Notes: Leave casting notes, performance feedback, or style guidance on character profiles.
  • Change History: Track edits to character attributes and assignment changes with full version history.
  • Approval Workflow: Lock down finalized cast lists and send notifications to team members.
