Overview

The Editor component of the ACT 3 AI platform is the central workspace where creators transform scripts and storyboards into polished, AI-assisted video sequences. It unifies script editing, shot planning, visual previews, and AI-driven regeneration within a single, customizable interface—enabling writers, directors, and editors to maintain full creative control while leveraging automated workflows.

Main Areas

The Editor screen is split into three columns. You can pick which view goes in each column:

Switch between these views using the dropdown menus above each column or keyboard shortcuts (e.g., Ctrl + E then P).

How to Write and Edit Your Script

  • Start with your script: The script editor formats scene headings, character names, and dialogue automatically.
  • Highlight scenes and shots: Different background colors help you tell where one scene or shot ends.
  • Compare versions: Open two scripts side by side—like your original draft and an AI-revised draft—to decide which lines to keep.

Working on Your Timeline

  • Add scenes or shots: Drag script blocks onto the timeline to create your sequence.
  • Zoom and scrub: Pinch or scroll to zoom in for frame-by-frame work, or zoom out for a full-scene overview.
  • Play back sections: Select a block of shots and hit “Play” to focus only on that part.

Previewing Your Video

  • Quick renders: Generate a low-resolution preview instantly—no need to leave the Editor.
  • Adjust quality: Choose Draft, Medium, High, or even 4K quality. The Editor shows you the estimated AI credits before you render.
  • One-click updates: If you change your script or shot prompts, click “Regenerate” to see the updated preview.

Top-Down Planning

Collaboration Made Simple

  • Real-time teamwork: See who’s editing which part of the script, timeline, or preview.
  • Lock approved content: Freeze finished scenes or shots so no one can accidentally change them.
  • Comment and review: Leave notes on specific script lines or timeline points for your team.
