Characters

Overview

The Characters page is where you establish the key figures in your project—both AI‑powered and live actors. It centralizes character creation, attribute management, and template application to ensure consistent personalities and appearances across scripts, storyboards, and productions.

Main Sections

• Character List – A searchable, sortable table showing all characters, their roles (e.g., protagonist, supporting, background), status, and linked scenes.
• Character Profile – Detailed view for each character’s attributes, backstory, reference images, and voice/motion presets.
• Templates & Archetypes – Predefined character templates (e.g., hero, mentor, comic relief) that you can apply and customize.
• Import & Sync – Automatically pull character names from your script or sync with external casting databases.

Creating New Characters

1. Click **+ New Character** to open the creation form.
2. Enter a name, brief description, and select an initial template or archetype.
3. Optionally upload reference images or select from the built‑in asset library.

Editing Profiles

• **Attributes** – Set age, gender, physical traits, personality keywords, and emotional defaults.
• **Voice & Motion** – Assign AI voice profiles and motion‐capture presets for consistent performance.
• **Backstory & Notes** – Add biographies, character arcs, and production notes for team context.

Templates & Archetypes

• **Template Library** – Browse common archetypes (hero, villain, sidekick) and apply them as a starting point.
• **Custom Templates** – Save your own character configurations for reuse in future projects.
• **Bulk Application** – Apply template changes to multiple characters at once (e.g., update all “soldier” extras).

Integration Across Workflow

• **Script Linking** – Characters automatically link to dialogue and scene headings in the Editor.
• **Storyboard & Panels** – Drag character thumbnails into storyboard frames for visual consistency.
• **Timeline Tagging** – Tag timeline segments with character appearances to streamline shot planning.

Collaboration & Versioning

• **Change History** – View and revert edits to any character’s profile with full audit trails.
• **Comments & Feedback** – Leave notes directly on profiles for casting directors, writers, and animators.
• **Approval Workflow** – Mark profiles as “Approved” to lock final designs and notify stakeholders.
