Overview

In ACT 3 AI, the Cast is the group of characters and their assigned Digital Actors who bring your script to life. Casting connects story roles with customizable AI performers, ensuring continuity across scenes, shots, and episodes.

Purpose of Casting

  • Assigns scripted roles to actors.
  • Maintains consistency of voice, appearance, and performance across the project.
  • Allows reuse of saved actors from the Actor Library.
  • Enables collaborative casting in team or organization projects.

How Casting Works

  1. Define characters in your script editor.
  2. Open the Actor Library to browse or create Digital Actors.
  3. Assign each character to an actor.
  4. Adjust voice settings, wardrobe, and personality traits.
  5. Lock the cast once approved to avoid accidental changes during production.

Cast Management

  • Actor Profiles: Store appearance, voice, and performance traits.
  • Character Mapping: Each character role is mapped to a digital actor.
  • Recasting: Replace actors mid-project without rewriting scripts.
  • Shared Casting: Share cast lists with your team to keep consistency across projects.

Example Cast List

Character Assigned Actor Role Type Notes
Detective Carter Actor A – Male, 40s, rugged voice Protagonist Appears in all 3 Acts
Sarah Actor B – Female, 30s, calm tone Supporting Key Act 2 plot driver
Alien Overlord Actor C – Stylized creature Antagonist Requires VFX-heavy rendering

Integration with Workflow

Best Practices

  • Name characters consistently (avoid duplicates).
  • Keep alternate actor looks (costumes, age variations) in one Actor Library entry.
  • Assign placeholder actors early, then refine casting later.
  • Lock main cast before final rendering to prevent continuity errors.
