Storyboard Panels

Overview

The Storyboard & Panels feature in ACT 3 AI lets you visually map out your story before or during production. It automatically generates or imports storyboard frames for each scene and shot, linking them directly to your script lines and timeline in the Editor Workspace.

You can create storyboards manually, import them from design tools, or generate them using AI models like Google Veo 3, Runway Integration, or WAN AI Integration.

• Script-Linked Panels: Every panel is tied to a shot or scene in your script for perfect continuity.
• AI Panel Generation: Create storyboard frames instantly from shot prompts or scene descriptions.
• Drag-and-Drop Layout: Rearrange panels within scenes or across acts.
• Multi-View Support: See script text, shot data, and panels side-by-side.
• Export Options: Download as PDF, image sheets, or upload to collaboration platforms.

How to Create Storyboards

1. Open your project in the Editor and switch one column to Storyboard & Panels view.
2. Select a scene or shot in the outline panel.
3. Click **+ Add Panel**:
   1. Manual Upload: Import PNG, JPG, or SVG drawings from your local files.
   2. AI Generate: Choose a render engine (Google_Veo_3, Runway, Wan) and enter your visual prompt.
   3. From Script: Let ACT 3 AI auto-generate from the corresponding script lines.
4. Arrange panels in sequence and link them to their respective shots.

Panel Editing

• Rename panels for clarity (e.g., "CU – Hero's Eyes").
• Add camera movement or lighting notes to each panel.
• Attach reference images or location assets for production planning.
• Delete or replace panels without affecting the script.

AI-Generated Panels

• AI generation consumes credits based on resolution and model.
• Models:
  • Google Veo 3 – Realistic/photographic previews.
  • Runway Integration – Stylized/experimental looks.
  • WAN AI Integration – Fast low-latency previews for collaboration.
• Adjust prompt style, camera angle, lighting, and tone for each shot.

Collaboration

• Co-edit storyboards in real time with your team.
• Comment directly on panels to suggest changes.
• Lock panels once approved to prevent accidental edits.

Exporting

• Export entire storyboards as:
  • PDF – Printable, client-ready format.
  • PNG/JPG sheets – For quick sharing.
  • Linked media – Embed in documentation or pitch decks.
• Maintain script-panel links on export for easy reference.

Tips for Best Results

• Keep panels clear and focused on one action or moment.
• Maintain visual continuity – ensure characters, sets, and props match across panels.
• Use panels as a communication tool between writers, directors, and production teams.

Troubleshooting

• Panel not linked to shot → Drag the panel thumbnail onto the target shot in the outline.
• AI result off-target → Refine your prompt or change the render engine.
• Missing assets in export → Ensure all panels are approved and saved before exporting.
