The Editor Page in Act3AI is where users can preview, refine, and export their AI-generated videos, transforming text prompts into professional-grade movies, YouTube videos, TikTok clips, or more. This page provides a comprehensive set of tools for fine-tuning visuals, audio, and structure, ensuring your project matches your creative vision. Below is an overview of the key sections and elements available on the Editor Page, starting with the Navigation section.

Navigation

The Navigation section is located at the top of the Editor Page, providing quick access to essential tools and features for managing your video project. The top navigation bar includes the following elements: File, Edit, Outline, Insert, View, Shot, Script, Production, Visuals, Scenes, and Documentation. On the left side of the top navigation bar, you’ll find additional options: Credits (for managing project credits) and Roll Over Back (to navigate back to the previous page or view). Below is a detailed breakdown of the File element.

File

The File menu, accessible via the shortcut Ctrl+F, contains tools for importing and exporting project assets, allowing seamless integration and finalization of your video. The File menu includes the following sub-elements:

  • Import (Shortcut: M)
 * Navigates to the Import Script Page, where users can upload scripts to incorporate into their project. This is useful for adding custom scripts or external content to enhance your video.
  • Export Human Script (Shortcut: H)
 * Exports the script generated or edited in Act3AI in a human-readable format. Available export options include:
   * Plain Text with Layout (.txt): Exports the script with formatting preserved, suitable for sharing or printing with layout details.
   * Plain Text without Layout (.txt): Exports the script as plain text without formatting, ideal for simple text-based applications.
   * Final Draft Format (.fdx): Exports the script in Final Draft’s industry-standard .fdx format, compatible with professional screenwriting software.
  • Export Human Script (Shortcut: K)
 * Exports another version of the human-readable script, similar to the above but accessible via a different shortcut for workflow flexibility. Available export options are:
   * Plain Text with Layout (.txt): Includes formatting for readability.
   * Plain Text without Layout (.txt): Strips formatting for basic text use.
   * Final Draft Format (.fdx): Exports in .fdx format for professional use.
  • Import Human Script (Shortcut: I)
 * Allows users to import an existing human-readable script into Act3AI for further editing or video generation. This supports scripts created outside Act3AI, enhancing project flexibility.
  • Import Video (Shortcut: 9)
 * Enables users to import an existing video file into the Editor Page for additional editing or integration with the AI-generated project. This is useful for combining external footage with Act3AI’s generated content.

Edit

The Edit menu, accessible via the shortcut Ctrl+E, provides tools for modifying and managing aspects of your video project. The Edit menu includes the following sub-element:

  • Plans and Credits (Shortcut: 3)
 * Navigates to the Plan Page, where users can manage project plans (e.g., subscription tiers, project settings) and credits (e.g., assigning roles or acknowledgments for the video). This is useful for adjusting project scope or adding professional credits to your video.

Outline

The Outline menu, accessible via the shortcut Ctrl+O, allows users to manage the structural overview of their video project. The Outline menu includes the following sub-element:

  • Show Shot (No shortcut specified)
 * Displays shots in both the timeline and the outline view, enabling users to visualize and navigate the sequence of shots within their project. This is useful for reviewing the flow of scenes and shots in the context of the overall narrative.

Insert

The Insert menu, accessible via the shortcut Ctrl+I, provides tools for adding new elements to the project’s structure. The Insert menu includes the following sub-element:

  • Outline (Shortcut: O)
 * Opens a submenu with options to add structural components to the project, accessible on the Outline Page. The Outline submenu includes the following sub-elements:
   * Add Act (Shortcut: A)
     * Adds a new act to the project’s structure on the Outline Page, allowing users to define major narrative segments (e.g., Act 1, Act 2, Act 3 for movies).
   * Add Beat (Shortcut: B)
     * Adds a new beat (e.g., a key plot point or moment) to the project on the Outline Page, enabling users to refine the narrative flow within acts.
   * Add Scene (Shortcut: S)
     * Adds a new scene to the project on the Outline Page, allowing users to create specific scenes within the narrative structure.
   * Add Shot (Shortcut: H)
     * Adds a new shot to the project on the Outline Page, enabling users to define individual camera shots within scenes (e.g., close-up, wide shot).
   * Add Set (No shortcut specified)
     * Navigates to the Add Set Page, where users can add a 2D or 3D background to the project, enhancing the visual environment of scenes.

Tips for Using the Navigation Section

  • Use Shortcuts: Memorize shortcuts like Ctrl+F for File, Ctrl+E for Edit, Ctrl+O for Outline, and Ctrl+I for Insert, along with sub-element shortcuts (e.g., 3, O, A, B, S, H) to streamline your workflow.
  • Choose the Right Export Format: Select Plain Text with Layout for readable scripts, Plain Text without Layout for simple text applications, or Final Draft Format (.fdx) for professional screenwriting workflows.
  • Leverage Outline Tools: Use the Show Shot option in the Outline menu to visualize your project’s structure, and the Insert menu’s Outline sub-elements to build acts, beats, scenes, shots, or sets.
  • Explore Other Navigation Elements: Check out Visuals, Scenes, or Production in the top navigation bar for additional editing tools. Visit the Tutorials page for guides on these features.
  • Manage Credits Efficiently: Use the Credits option or the Plans and Credits sub-element in the Edit menu to add or edit project credits for sharing with the Community.
