Script Editing

Overview

The Script Editing feature in ACT 3 AI provides a dedicated workspace for writing, formatting, and refining your screenplay or video script. It integrates directly with Timeline, Editor, and AI Wizard, allowing creators to move seamlessly from raw text to structured scenes, beats, and visual storytelling.

Key Capabilities

  • Automatic Formatting: Scene headings, character names, and dialogue are styled to industry standards.
  • AI Assistance: Expand outlines into full scenes, refine dialogue, or generate alternate takes using AI Wizard.
  • Multi-View Editing: Compare different script versions side by side for easy revision.
  • Collaboration: Multiple team members can co-edit scripts in real time with version history and inline comments.
  • Scene & Shot Linking: Directly connect text blocks to Timeline segments, Storyboard Panels, or Shots.

How to Use

  1. Navigate to the Editor and select the **Script** view.
  2. Start typing or paste your script — formatting for headers, dialogue, and actions is applied automatically.
  3. Use the toolbar to insert new scenes, beats, or notes.
  4. Highlight a section and click **Send to AI** to get alternate suggestions or expansions.
  5. Drag script blocks into the Timeline to begin structuring your video.
  6. Save versions as you go, or export to Final Draft format for professional compatibility.

Example Workflow

  • Begin with an outline in AI Wizard.
  • Refine character interactions and dialogue in the Script Editor.
  • Link key scenes to Digital Actors for casting.
  • Send completed script segments to Preview for fast rendering.
  • Export or integrate with external tools like Final Draft.

Tips

  • Use short action lines to keep pacing smooth.
  • Label important beats clearly for AI assistance.
  • Collaborate with team members through inline comments to refine dialogue.
  • Save often and maintain version control for safety.
